As childcare providers we have a duty to promote healthy lifestyles, support well being, and to teach children about making healthy choices.
We can:
🍏Encourage healthy food choices, provide opportunities to try new foods and learn where foods come from.
🪥Promote good oral hygiene awareness and support parents with healthy packed lunch suggestions.
🛝Encourage active play both indoors and outdoors whilst also managing any associated risks.
🧘🏼♀️Help children to learn about their bodies and promote self-care skills.
🫧Teach children about hygiene, germs and infection, helping them understand why it is important to wash our hands and keep things clean.
🏃🏼Help children to learn about the effects of exercise and food choices can have on our bodies.
😊Promote positive mindsets and opportunities for children to build on self-esteem.
Why not use World Health Day to reflect on all of the things that you do and to think of new ways in which you can help promote children’s heath and well being.
