Ready for the roll out of the NEW Curriculum for Wales we have added New Outcomes to the MindingKids APP!
From September 2022, the Foundation Phase will no longer be statutory and will be replaced with the Curriculum for Wales.
The new curriculum for children from 3 to 16 years requires schools and settings to develop a curriculum that is specific to their learners. Through Development Pathways and opportunities to progress in all Areas of learning and experience the new curriculum aims to create students who are;
- ambitious, capable learners
- enterprising, creative contributors
- ethical, informed citizens
- healthy, confident individuals

To support providers in Wales implement and monitor learning in line with the new curriculum MindingKids has now added new outcomes to the MindingKids APP!
Our Welsh App users can now use the MK App to:
✅Link observations and activities for individual children OR for your entire group to the Curriculum for Wales – Areas of learning and experience
OR to the The five developmental pathways of the Curriculum for funded non-maintained nursery settings
✅Check children’s progress against Descriptions of learning and Outcome Statements
✅Add photographs and next step ideas to support progress
MK App outcomes provide a flexible approach to recording observation information allowing you add as much or as little information as you like.
Record an activity against one of the Areas of learning and experience or Developmental Pathways, against an aspect within that area, or to a specific outcome statement.
‘I need’ and ‘I am learning to’ statements are provided for the The five developmental pathways of the Curriculum for funded non-maintained nursery settings and Descriptions of Learning statements for Curriculum for Wales – Progression Step 1.
