World Oceans Day takes place on the 8th June each year and is a day to celebrate the world’s oceans and promote ways in which we can protect and preserve the ocean environment. Special activities take place at aquariums and zoos, people take part in beach clean ups or conservation programs, and the wonders of our oceans are celebrated through art, film and sustainable seafood events.
