Reports & Checklist Sheets
Children can pretend to be a Bug Detective or use the Minibeast Hunt sheet to note down what they find. An excellent resource to encourage children to look closely at nature and the environment, and describe what they can see. Children will learn how they can record and share information.
Use these fun worksheets to help children practice their counting, reading, writing, pencil control skills and to learn more about minibeasts!
Picture cards can be used in a variety of ways:
- To help children learn about and identify minibeasts.
- For word recognition and literacy skills
- Use two sets of cards to play snap or memory games (turning over one card at a time and remembering where it is in order to match it with it’s pair).
- To learn about colours and patterns (Find me a stripy minibeast, a spotty minibeast, etc.)
- To test children’s knowledge (Show me a minibeast that makes honey, etc.)
Laminate and cut out these ladybird dominoes to have a fun minibeast game. Dominoes are great to help with counting and pairing skills. You could also have the children colour the dominoes and use them for a colour matching game.
Busy Bugs Board Game
This fun game will encourage children to learn about and communicate their knowledge of minibeasts and nature, use their counting and number skills to move around the board, recognise colours, learn about letters and their sounds and express themselves through movement and sound.
Game rules and cards also included!
Bonkers About Bugs Certificate
After all of these exciting activities, the children will have had lots of fun and at the same time learned about minibeasts, lifecycles, habitats, nature and the environment. Reward them with a special certificate to take home!
The blank Activity Plan and Evaluation Sheets are provided as PDF Forms. Simply click in each area to add information or to tick the learning areas covered, or if you prefer, print out and complete by hand.
All other resources in this pack are provided as standard PDF files and are not editable.
