For providers registered in SCOTLAND…
We have added a NEW Realising the Ambition Progress Check AND Curriculum for Excellence Learning and Development Summary to our resource collection!
Find them BOTH in our Scottish VALUE PACKS!
Early Years providers in Scotland are advised to follow Realising the Ambition, the national practice guidance document for Early Level pupils in Scotland, and for children aged 3 and above, development progress can begin to be assessed against expected levels within the Curriculum for Excellence.
These 2 new resources can be used to help practitioners regularly monitor and assess children’s learning in order to recognise children’s progress, understand their needs, and to plan activities that will best support their development:
Use the RTA Progress Check to complete a written summary of children’s development in line with the Realising the Ambition guidance.
For children aged 3 and above the CfE Learning and Development Summary will allow you to compile a well-rounded picture of a child’s knowledge, understanding and abilities, and their attainment against expected levels within the Curriculum for Excellence.
Both resources will assist providers in recognising and recording each child’s strengths, any areas where progress is less than expected, if there are significant emerging concerns, or whether any special educational needs or disabilities have been identified.
For blended placements or where children are moving onto school or another setting, these resources also work as excellent communication documents to share with parents and other professionals involved or to support transition.
Supplied as a PDF Forms the RTA Progress Check and CfE Learning and Development Summary may be completed and shared digitally using a computer, tablet or smart or printed out and completed by hand.
