The Care Inspectorate’s Quality Framework for the daycare of children, childminding and school aged childcare sets out what inspectors expect to see in high-quality care and learning and aims to support providers with self-evaluation.

This service evaluation resource works through the key questions and quality indicators of the framework, step by step, to assist with thoroughly evaluating every aspect of your service.

How the vision, values and aims and objectives of the service is communicated clearly and all users are involved with evaluation procedures and improvements.

How knowledge, skills and creativity are used alongside best practice guidance to lead improvements, enhance experiences and support high quality play.

How effective deployment and management of staff and resources ensures the delivery of high quality care.

🔑Key question 4: How good is our staff team?

How regular reflection of practice, knowledge, training and CPL ensures competency in the delivery of compassionate and responsive care.

How fair and proper recruitment procedures are followed to ensure the suitability of all staff with induction processes taking into account staff qualifications, experience and skills.

How effective management ensures for efficient team working where staff skills and available space is used in the best way to meet individual and wider group needs.

How children and families are supported as routines and procedures change in line with Covid-19 guidance.
