Whilst this tracker has been designed principally for childcare providers registered by Ofsted following the Early Years Foundation Stage, they provide an excellent tool for monitoring and assessing the learning and development progress of children everywhere.

active learning – how they are motivated to learn

creating and thinking critically – how they are thinking

Understanding how individual children learn will allow us to offer appropriate resources and activities and support them in being effective and motivated learners.

This Characteristics Of Effective Learning Tracker provides an excellent way to keep a comprehensive record of how each child is learning and link your observations to the Characteristics Of Effective Learning as outlined in the Development Matters guidance.

Choose to update as observations occur or complete just once each term / every 6 months as an update of each child’s progress.
