MindingKids was delighted to meet with Tracey Joyce last week, the project lead of Your Childminding Journey, the new online learning and development resource for prospective and practicing childminders in Scotland. Tracey had invited MindingKids to discuss the benefits of the new resource and ask for ways in which we could support it’s promotion. Your Childminding Journey is carefully broken down into 3 stages: Thinking about Childminding, Starting to Childmind and Developing my childminding practice, with each stage highlighting all the various things we need to think about throughout our childminding careers in order to meet requirements and deliver a high quality care service for children and families. With a multitude of changes happening in the world of childcare including the introduction of the new Health & Social Care Standards, we believe Your Childminding Journey will be an excellent support tool for childminders in Scotland and help to bring clarity as to how various legislation and guidance documents tie together.
We have now updated our FREE Step by Step Guide to Registering in Scotland to refer to Your Childminding Journey and are currently working on updating and creating some new resources that will tie in with each step of the journey helping you to go the extra mile!
